Twin raids on a Worcester Park pub, believed by police to be an organised campaign of violence, have left two men seriously injured and customers too scared to give evidence.

On the evenings of Friday June 10, and Saturday, June 11 the Huntsman Hall pub in Central Road was raided by three men.

On each occasion they singled out a different man, and assaulted him.

The attacks, thought to have been carried out by the same group, have left police struggling for answers as witnesses will not speak for fear of reprisals.

Detective Inspector Martin Wade said: " Witnesses are reluctant to come forward because they are afraid of the repercussions, but sometimes you have got to stand up against these people.

"We give our guarantee that we will do our best to ensure their safety and protection.

"Two males have been seriously assaulted and I need to know why."

On the Friday, the men went into the pub at around 10.45pm and one of the group attacked a 19-year-old white male customer while the other men prevented staff and other drinkers from intervening.

The following night, the pub was raided at around 11.05pm and another man was beaten with what police described as a "man made offensive weapon".

And before leaving the premises on Saturday, the men issued a general threat to customers and staff by daring them to interfere.

The victim of the second attack has spoken to officers but the first assaulted man is yet to be traced by police.

D Insp Wade said: "Clearly somebody in the pub knows the suspects but there was very little we could do because nobody wanted to make any allegations."

The three attackers are described as being in their early 20s. One is a white male, approximately 5ft 9ins, with a spotty complexion and an athletic build.

The second is a white male wearing a hooded top and the third is a light-skinned black or Asian man.

Police are also keen to identify the victim of the Friday night attack who is described as a white male around 19 years old who has been a regular at the pub and is possibly called Lee.
