Elmbridge youngsters are officially the best athletes in the county after being crowned overall winners in the Surrey Youth Games.
The team fought off competition from 10 Surrey boroughs to be crowned champion at the ninth annual games, finishing 14 points clear of their closest rivals Woking.
The aim of the games is to enable youngsters aged six to 15 to compete in 29 different competitions in 11 different sports, developing their skills and promoting physical activity.
Elmbridge's team of 193 entered 14 of the categories in the multi-sport event over the course of two June weekends.
Liz Neary, the teams organiser said: "It's fantastic news. The heat was amazing and everyone was in really good spirits. The kids gave 100 per cent so it's great that they've got a medal to take home with them. The event is about having fun with sport and it's good for them to get involved. Hopefully it will motivate them to go further."
Gold medals were won in girls' junior and senior hockey and the boys' senior hockey. Silver was claimed in tennis, girls' rugby, junior boys' judo, mixed tag rugby and girls' basketball. Bronze was awarded in mixed squash, netball and athletics.
