SIR. Commenting on your article on the Rose Theatre I would disagree with the cut.
There should be no subsidy to cut and if the theatre is as popular and necessary to the borough as it is spoken of by our council why doesn't it pay for itself?
The old Kingston Empire put on popular shows, with all the current stars of their day and went for years without a subsidy.
In my opinion it is more halo polishing by our spendthrift councillors who are too busy trying to justify the largest council tax in London to spare time to answer why they have spent £260,000 on a wooden shed in a redundant school (Moor Lane).
