A father and son rock duo will be performing together on stage in two different bands, writes Nazia Dewji.
Famed 1970s glam rock band Mud will team up with current rockers Mothership in a special gig at the Peel in Kingston this month.
Mud bassist Ray Stiles says: “We have not played much together for the best part of 35 years. The last time Mud played together I was not even married and now I have a son. It is a totally different life now. But it feels good to be back.
“We did get together with Mothership once before and it was probably going to be the last time we were ever going to do it, but it was just so successful. This time will probably be the last though.”
The two bands have not been rehearsing together and will meet on the day in a mighty battle of the rockers.
Stiles says: “We were glam rock. They are more traditional rock. I think my son will do a lot better than me.”
