Councillor Morris' letter (What good are councillors who do not attend council, May 8) about Conservative councillors' poor attendance records equally applies to Nigel Farage and the UKIP MEPs whose poor record of attendance at the European Parliament to which British voters elected them contrasts with their very good record of attendance at the office which dishes out their pay and allowances.

These people may not like the EU or the European Parliament but they should have the decency to honour the trust which the British voters gave them.

What good are MEPs who don't attend the parliament they were elected to?  How can they stand up for British interests if they are absent when these are debated?  How can they have the nerve to ask for voters' support when all they do is take the money and fail to deliver the goods.

So far as I'm concerned it's a case of once bitten twice shy and UKIP will not get my vote.
