I would ask your correspondent Jose Fiuza, the chairman of Epsom Conservatives, instead of making political points against his political rivals (Tories active all year round, May 15), if he would like to explain to the residents of Epsom & Ewell why the council tax in the borough has risen for the third year running?
I wrote to his colleague and Epsom MP Chris Grayling, asking for an explanation as to why his boss David Cameron keeps insisting on television that council tax has been frozen for the past three years under the Conservative government as this is patently untrue.
His curt reply was that he had made his disappointment plain to his colleagues on Epsom & Ewell Council.
All of this against a backdrop of shocking road conditions more associated with third world countries, and declining services within the borough.
