So Scott Burns didn’t vote as he ‘had absolutely no clue who anyone was or what they had done or promise to do in the future’, decrying the process as a charade and that ‘we never get what we vote for anyway’ ('Elections are charade').
Well, Mr Burns, under the proportional representation voting system used for the European Parliament elections you would have had the best chance of getting what you voted for, but you squandered that opportunity!
It is very easy to find out about candidate and their manifestos online.
If Mr Burns didn’t feel informed, he should have taken responsibility and found out who was standing, what they stood for and cast his vote for the party that would best represent his views.
It probably took him longer to type out his letter to the editor than to find out his options. What a charade, indeed!
