In response to a letter from Scott Burns, West Ewell - who is presumably an actual resident rather than a headline relating to an SNP arson attack - the "voting charade" to which you refer is how we do things in this country.
You quote the BBC as an example, but all broadcast media (from what I saw and heard) covered the build-up to the elections in great detail, while adhering to the rule of not promoting one or other party above any other.
If you were not paying attention, or perhaps glued to a games console, maybe you missed it but, believe me, all the information was out there for you to make an informed decision and find out, as you put it, "who anyone was".
The General Election is next and I hope you and others like you pay a little more attention to the build up.
As per your sign off, "We never get what we vote for anyway", well perhaps we do - given that the result of a pathetically low turnout returned a victory for Farage and UKIP.
