Top Boy is returning for its second series on Netflix this week, following the successful reintroduction of the programme on the streaming platform in 2019.

This is technically the fourth series of the show, as Channel 4 produced the first two series before cancelling it back in 2014.

However, following interest from the rapper Drake, Netflix announced it would revive the series in 2017, which then premiered in September 2019 with ten episodes.

This was presented as the first season, whilst the original series was added to Netflix under the name Top Boy: Summerhouse, after the fictional London estate in which the series takes place.

The series will continue its interlocking stories of the drug gangs that operate in the estate and the people trying to lead honest lives.

All eight episodes will drop on Netflix on Friday, March 18.
