David Beckham turned down MP offer to ‘jump queue’

After queuing for 13 hours, reports have revealed that Beckham was offered to skip the long queue by a politician.

It comes after the footballer joined the queue at 2am and took pictures with the crowds and fans as they all waited to mourn the loss of her majesty.

When the star reached the coffin, he was spotted wiping a tear away as he bowed his head and paid his respect.

However, reports have now said that Beckham was invited to view the coffin by the unnamed MP who was allowed to take up to four guests to skip the queue.

But the former footballer declined the offer and stayed in the queue in the name of his grandfather Joseph West.

As the footballer shared that his grandfather was a royalist and his “real-life hero” adding that he couldn’t bear the idea of disappointing him by not queueing up properly with everyone else.

Back in 2003, Beckham was awarded an OBE by the Queen in 2003 to which he brought his grandparents, knowing their love and respect for the royals.

Elsewhere the public shared their outrage after This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Scholfield were caught ‘skipping the queue’ to see the Queen lying in state.

The presenters were seen in Westminster Hall on Friday as they filmed a segment for the popular daytime show that is expected to air on Tuesday.

With the pair visiting the Hall to film for their daytime program they weren’t required to queue in line with the public and instead were able to join a separate queue just for the press.

As an ITV source said the pair had press accreditation and were there alongside other broadcasters and national press outlets.

Adding that all press was taken to a press gallery and were not able to pay respects in the same way that the queueing public is able to.
