Boss Tommy Williams could not hide his disappointment after Kingstonian’s chances of reaching the Ryman Premier Division were ripped out of their hands.
Ks have picked up just one point from two games against sides in the bottom four, leaving them five points off the top five with only three games to play.
A goalless draw at Brentwood on Saturday was followed on Monday night by a sucker-punch defeat at home to Farnborough featuring a 95th minute winner.
Anything other than three points against Staines Town on Sunday at Kingsmeadow is likely to end their season.
Williams said: “We’re disappointed that it is no longer in our hands, but we will keep fighting until it is mathematically impossible.
“We have had a lot of games to play in a short space of time [five in 11 days] and fatigue has been a factor.
“We deserved more than a point against Brentwood, we bombarded them in the second half, and against Farnborough we conceded from a set piece in injury time, which was disappointing.”
He added: “At least we’ve had some time to recuperate between Monday and Sunday – we need to recover both physically and mentally.”
Bruce Hogg and Peter Dean are available for selection again this weekend, while Ty Smith could miss out with a shoulder injury.
