Leigh Dynan’s Kingstonian side were knocked out of the FA Trophy by Heybridge Swifts on Wednesday night.
Having drawn 2-2 at Fetcham Grove on Sunday thanks to a late goal by Taylor Miles, K’s were well beaten in the replay with Samuel Bantick helping himself to a hat-trick as Swifts cruised to a 5-1 win and a clash with Hampton and Richmond Borough in the next round.
Bantick opened the scoring in the 14th minute and Kreshnic Krasniqi added to the lead four minutes later.
Any hopes of a K’s comeback were dispelled early in the second half when Joe Gardner made it 3-0 in the 48th minute.
Bantick went on to score two more goals in the 73rd and 80th minutes to compound Kingstonian’s misery.
Reece Grant scored a consolation for the visitors from the penalty spot in the 87th minute.
The defeat will come as a bitter disappointment to K’s fans who were hoping to see their side lock horns with old rivals Hampton who are managed by former Kingstonian boss Alan Dowson.
Dynan, who only took over at Kingstonian in October following the sudden resignation of Craig Edwards, continues to tinker with his squad and has allowed Aaron Goode, Claudiu Vilcu and Tom Collins to leave the club.
However, defender Paul Rodgers arrives at Fetcham Grove having made his loan move from Vanarama National South side Chelmsford City a permanent arrangement.
K’s host Dorking Wanderers this Saturday (December 2) at Fetcham Grove. Kick-off is 3pm.
