Kingstonian travel to Bostik Premier League seventh-placed side Leiston this Saturday (December 9) on the back of two encouraging performances this week.
Manager Leigh Dynan continues to rebuild his team and watched as the K’s put in a workman-like display to earn a point from their clash at home to Dorking Wanderers last Saturday.
Then, on Tuesday night, goals from Ambrose Gnahore (24 minutes) and Daniel Ajakaiye (31) eased the K’s to victory at Horley Town in the Surrey Senior Cup.
In the second round of the competition K’s have been drawn away to their current landlords Leatherhead. The match is due to take place some time in January.
K’s are expected to include midfielder Kevin Maclaren in the squad for Saturday's trip to Leiston. The former Hendon captain was set to join the K’s from Tooting and Mitcham United last week but was unavailable for the Dorking game due to suspension.
Maclaren left Hendon in controversial circumstances back in January after being involved in a mass brawl against AFC Sudbury which caused the game to be abandoned.
He was also involved in another confrontation following a game against Wingate and Finchley saw him banned for the whole of the 2015/16 season.
The 29-year-old, who has also had spells with Woking and Walton Casuals, made over 300 appearances for the north London club.
K’s boss Dynan said: “I’ve known Kevin for a number of years and admired him.
“He’s a born winner and a leader on and off the pitch, and if you went into battle then you would want him on your side.”
