Salts’ five match winning streak came to an end with a 1-1 draw with Kensington Borough.
On a bright and sunny day, with a chilly wind, the Salts made heavy weather of the first half, with a lot of effort and endeavour, but no end result to match.
After the early exchanges had oscillated end to end, the Borough broke the dead lock late in the first half.
Five minutes before the break the Salts team stood ball watching in unison as Nigel Siedu stepped forward and picked his spot with ease.
The second half continued in the same way as the first, with a lot of hard graft, probing, mis-timed passes and wayward efforts.
The home side grew in to the game and on 81-minutes they produced an equaliser from some sustained pressure.
A corner out on the left from Lloyd Connelly found Rob Hendry via a flick on who fired past the keeper.
After a lengthy amount of injury time added the match eventually closed out honours even and a share of the points.
The result caused the Salts to slip one place to fifth in the Combined Counties League 1, five points behind leaders Bedfont and Feltham.
In the CCL1 Quarter Final Cup Draw, Salts have been drawn away to the league leaders. And in the draw for the last 16 of the CCL League Cup, Salts have been drawn at home to Godalming Town. Dates for both these Cup Ties have yet to be decided.
